Job Description

We are producing a 15-minute documentary about new immigrants who come to Canada and face challenges starting a new life in a new country. The challenges they face include learning english, finding a job, and finding suitable housing for themselves and their family. Although there are many challenges in starting over there are also many organizations that can help with these challenges.

The voice-over will supplement the documentary and will help to tell the story. It will not run continuously through the full documentary but will be used to establish each scene and provide more detail.

The voice style we are looking for should have a motherly and caring tone: At some points, a slightly concerned tone.

With your submission please include a brief voice-demo from the following text:

VOICE TONE: Motherly, Caring, Concerned
Lanay, his wife, and children hid in the jungle for 7 months, then fled Burma, ending up at a refugee camp in Thailand. 8 years later, still living in the camp, Apple died.

VOICE TONE: Motherly, Optimistic
Options is a multi-service agency that helps newcomers to Surrey.

Today, Melissa Osmoto is helping Maiten Juiterez arrange dental covereage for her daughter, Lisa, who has a toothache.

Amina Mengistu, a newcomer from Ethiopia, has come to Options for help with housing.

Rosa Oluvares has come for help writing her resume and gets information about an upcoming job fair.
