Job Description

This performance is for a pirate / internet radio station, broadcast to members only.

It consists of readings from Hakim Bey's "Temporary Autonomous Zones" (material existing in the public domain / royalty & copyright free).

The reader is an old philosopher poet, delivering a regular "fire side chat". In the tradition of Alan Watts lectures. The reading will be edited and curated with music and intro spots.

The tone should be: intimate, and conspiratorial. The speaker should have a relaxed, comfortable authority (not authoritarian, but quite self composed). Easily confident. He may be wistful at times, but grounded in his experience.

The genre of our project is MAGICAL REALISM, which means it is natural and realistic, but strange, mystical, metaphysical events may occur (without us drawing attention to them through genre tropes).

Great auditions will probably have done rudimentiary research on:
- the delivery style and sound of an Alan Watts lecture
- Hakim Bey's TAZ
- the work of Nonchalance (Jejune Institute, etc)
