Job Description

PERIOD: 1916

DIRECTION: This is spoken in a soft, almost confessional tone. Like a diary being read aloud.

BACKGROUND: This is a re-enactment of the experience of listening to the radio for the first time. It is set in 1916 just six years after the first regular radio broadcast began in San Jose California.

USE: This is part of project for the 01 Art and Technology Biennial in San Jose. The project commemorates Charles Herrold and his pioneering radio broadcasts.
