About Us:

Carbonite Inc. is an online backup system for PCs.

We need 5 30-45 second voiceovers for our tutorial introducing new users to our service. The files will need to be delivered as separate MP3 files.

We'd like a cheerful, reassuring tone for this piece.

Script 1:

Thanks for choosing Carbonite online backup. Carbonite is now installed on your computer and ready to start your backup.

By default, Carbonite will back up your "Documents and Settings" folder (called "Users" in Windows Vista). This folder includes all the photos, music, word processing documents, spreadsheets, Internet favorites, and other important files and folders on your Desktop and in your "My Documents" folder.

If you don't want to back up anything right now, choose "I'll manually select what to backup later".

After you've made your selection, click "Next" for a brief introduction to Carbonite.

Script 2:
Carbonite makes backing up your computer really simple.

You can see whether your files are backed up just by looking at the colored dots on your files and folders. A green dot means your file is backed up. A yellow dot means it's waiting to be backed up. Simply right-click on any file or folder to add or remove it from your backup.

Carbonite works automatically in the background. When your computer is idle, Carbonite goes to work backing up your new and changed files at full speed. When you're using your computer, Carbonite slows down so it won't slow down your computer or browsing speed.

And finally, your backups are safe and secure. Your files are encrypted before they leave your PC, so no one can see or access your files but you.

Script 3:
Carbonite backs up all the important, irreplaceable files on your computer: your documents, settings, photos, email, music, and other files.

Carbonite does not back up applications or system files by default because those files could do damage when restored to a new computer. However, you can add any file to your backup by right-clicking on it and selecting "back this up".

Note that Carbonite only backs up the files stored on your computer -- not external hard drives or networked drives.

Script 4:
Your first backup could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on how much you have on your computer.

Home high-speed Internet connections are capable of backing up about 2 to 2.5 GB of data per day. So if you have 5 GB of files, your initial backup will take about 2 days to complete.

Remember, Carbonite works at top speed when you're not actively using your computer. It's okay to turn your computer off if you need to; Carbonite resumes automatically when you turn it back on. We recommend that you leave your computer on overnight until your first backup is complete.

After your first backup, future backups will happen so quickly, you probably won't even notice them. Carbonite will automatically upload new and changed files to keep your backup up to date.

Script 5:

The Carbonite Lock Icon appears on your Windows system tray, typically located in the lower right hand corner of your desktop. When the Carbonite lock is green, you’re all backed up. When it’s yellow, there are files awaiting backup.

You can click on the lock to see the status of your backup, request help, and so forth.

The blue "Restore from Carbonite" lock on your desktop shows the contents of your online backup. To restore from your backup, double-click the lock. Then, right-click on any file or folder and select "Restore".
