Job Description

About Us:

More than a decade after its first release, KidMail continues to delight children, while also providing a critically important safe communication framework. KidMail is brought to you by a group of concerned parents (well, most of us are parents; we're all deeply concerned about child safety!). We are based in the USA's Pacific Northwest and two beautiful regions of India.

Very soon we will include a Windows desktop application that notifies kids when new mail has arrived (similar to how AOL says "you've got mail"), except ours will be voiced by 4 highly animated avatars: A robot, a parrot, an old wizard, and a genie (male) from Aladdin's Lamp. Our budget is $200 for this project, ideal for one talent who can perform all required voices. There are only 5 lines each. The scripts are as shown below. We need a .wav for each line.

FYI - This is how the characters look:

Rest assured that you can send actual recordings (of yourself voicing lines for your chosen character) for a better chance of being selected. We will compensate for each character voice that is to be used. We might decide to use a computer generated voice for the robot if none of the human voices meet our expectations.

Here is the script:

[1] Ohhh… My stars! New email has appeared!

[2] Hmmm. The email cauldron is empty.

[3] Here’s a sorcerer’s secret – send a message and you’ll probably get one back. Maybe two!

[4] Let’s conjure up some email!

[5] Phooey.

[1] Squawk! Squawk! New email. New email!

[2] Pretty bird. Pretty bird. No message… Try later.

[3] Squawk. Polly wants a letter. Polly wants a letter. Send email!

[4] Yoo-hoo. Pretty bird. Go email?

[5] Squawk. Squawk, Squawk!

[1] Sahib, your email - it has arrived.

[2] So sorry Sahib. No email.

[3] Your wish is my command. Do you wish to go to email?

[4] Sahib, I am bored. Let’s check email.

[5] Ughhh!
(deep sigh)

[1] Email data has been processed. Please log in.

[2] I have queried the mail server. No email is available.

[3] Would you like to transmit a message?

[4] Do you have email data?

[5] Error. Error.

Note from If you are recording a custom demo, showcase 1 line from each character script in the same audio file (1 MP3 file including 4 voice samples) as your submission to demonstrate your voice acting capabilities. Watermark where appropriate.
