Job Description

+++UPDATE+++
Thank you to all the talented professionals who made their submission for this job. It's a pity we cannot hire more than one person, but we found the voice we were looking for.

In the hope there will be more occasions to work together in future projects, we'll be sure to keep in mind your name and to get in touch if the opportunity arises.

Thank you again for your precious time.

Best,

L.B.
-----------
We are looking for a native German voice actor for a short independent art film about a German painter from the beginning of the XX century. The voice we are looking for should preferably have a Bavarian accent, but not very pronounced, as the script is not supposed to be caricatural. We are looking for middle-aged voices, 30 to 40 years approximately (even though some flexibility is possible regarding age), with a calm and warm character.

The script for the voice actor to read is around 250 words in all, so quite short, and it is in the style of a letter. The voice we are looking for doesn't have to display perfection, but rather be expressive enough to convey the text, which is a letter the painter wrote to his wife during the Great War, in a sensitive and subtle tone. Beside, the short film featuring the voice acting will comprise images of landscape, minimalist music and natural sounds.

We would prefer our voice actor to be able to record his voice remotely, in a good standard quality (24bit 48khz uncompressed .wav or equivalent file format, no reverb, no extra effects: the text should be understandable.)

This is a small independent production (zero-budget film, basically), but we would like to pay for our voice actor a fair price for the amount of work provided. Note that the intended audience of the film is not that of a commercial environment but rather of film festivals and art events/galleries.

You will find attached a small excerpt from another related text, not part of the script. Please, send us your quotes for this project and also useful audio samples (preferably from the text attached).

We are looking forward to hear from you.

Thank you.
