Job Description

Hi there,

We are looking for some help with voiceover for our new iPad children’s story. We’re retelling Hansel and Gretel, and we’re casting voiceover for Hansel, Gretel, and the Witch.

Both Hansel and Gretel will have around 30 lines in the book (~120 words), and the witch will have about 10 lines in the book (~40 words). Every time the reader touches the character, your voiceover will come in with a few words like, “Take that!” or “Weeeeee!” We'll also record some groans and snores too.

Hansel is the older brother in our story and around 10 years old. Gretel is his younger sister around 6 or 7. Both of them are upbeat and should have a plain American accent. The witch should be a classic screechy witch voice.

We are offering $500 per character for the voiceover (flat rate, no royalties). We're looking for talent New York City area, and if we select you, we'll arrange a time for you to come into our sound studio to do the recording.

If you are interested in any one of these three positions, please just record yourself through your computer saying a few of the lines and include it in your response.

Evil cackle
Yell: “Too thin!”
"You're all mine now!"
"Let's get cookin"

Groan/pout: “I’m sleeeeeping!’
“So there’s no birthday cake?”
“Betcha can’t find me!”
“I hope this works...”
“Let’s go home!”

Jumping on bed: “Weeeee!”
Distressed: “Oh no!”
“Are you sure about this?”
“This is gross!”
“We’re saved!”

Note from Voices.com: It is recommended that you protect all your audition work by watermarking the submission or only recording a portion of the script provided by the client. This will render your audition file useless for anything other than reviewing your voice. Not sure what watermarking is? Please visit our FAQ section for more information.
