Job Description

Hi there,

We are looking for some help with voiceover for our new iPad children’s story. We’re retelling Hansel and Gretel, and we’re casting the narrator of our story.

The book has 19 pages and about 600 words. The story includes dialogue with three characters (Hansel, Gretel, and the Witch). We are looking for a narrator that’s energetic, like a young parent, but we don’t want the reading to sound too hokey or announcer-y. We would like a plain American accent, and we welcome auditions from both men and women.

We are offering this position at a flat rate (i.e. no royalties). We're looking for talent in the New York City area, and if we select you, we'll arrange a time for you to come into our sound studio to do the recording.

If you are interested in the narrator, please just record yourself saying the lines below. We look forward to hearing from you!

Gretel finally pulled Hansel out of bed,
and they rushed outside.

“Hey Gretel, I dare you
to go in the forest with me,” Hansel said.
“No way!” said Gretel.

"And you, my dear," the witch said to Gretel,
“You will do all my chores until I eat you too."
Gretel spent her days mopping the floor
and scrubbing the witch’s dirty feet.

Note from Voices.com: It is recommended that you protect all your audition work by watermarking the submission or only recording a portion of the script provided by the client. This will render your audition file useless for anything other than reviewing your voice. Not sure what watermarking is? Please visit our FAQ section for more information.
