Hi there. We're creating a 60 second radio spot for a solar company called R.E.C. Solar (pronounced as individual letters, not "Wreck" Solar).

The script is attached- it's fairly straightforward with the speaker talking directly to the audience for 60 seconds. The word count is 182 words (though the last italicized lines are a legal disclaimer that will be read very quickly to close the spot). We're talking to the average homeowner here, someone who is practical and looking to save money, though wary of the hassle of going solar and skeptical of the claims people make about it. The ideal read would make it sound like "Hey, I used to be skeptical too, but I'm telling you this is legit."

We want to produce a sharp spot for R.E.C.'s ad campaign cuts through the noise and hits their customers hard with a specific call to action. We're looking for a likable energy with some edge to it (looking to achieve something realistic while avoiding the over the top friendliness and cheese that plagues other home solar ads in the industry). We still want the speaker to be credible (something like if George Clooney read the spot- he might have a dry tone to to it, but you'd still like the message at the end).

Most solar ads are too "sunny" and cheery, so we're looking to differentiate this ad with a distinct tone. We want a more realistic feel to it (what a solar sales team guy would say when his boss wasn't looking and he didn't have to use his sales script). There's kind of a sense of urgency here, suggesting that solar is the obvious choice even though so many are missing it, in the beginning lines. The specific info about the website and call to action can be slightly more friendly or approachable. We're still aiming for a good sense of energy overall.

The reader should be confident- R.E.C. is the leader in home solar, so going with them for a system is the smart (though obvious) choice.
