Job Description

I am an animation student creating a film for which I need a voice actor, male, english, in his mid 40s. I was wondering if there was any one who meets this description and is willing to help out on a student project?

The film is called Death by Scrabble, and is based on this short story http://www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/DeatScra.shtml. The part that I need read is that of the husband. The script for the husband is in total under 400 words.

As a student, I obviously can't afford to pay the full rate that you may normally charge, but if anyone is willing to help me then hopefully we can negotiate a rate, and of course, you would receive a credit in the film as well as a copy.

I really need someone who can act the part, rather than just read it because the voice is hugely important to the film, and it needs to be convincing for the film to work

I've included a portion of the script for you to review. I would appreciate a demo similar in nature to the script, or a custom read would be appreciated if you have the time.

Many thanks for your time,
Katie Steed

Arnold: (inner monologue)

sigh We’re playing Scrabble. That’s how bad it’s got. I’m 42 years old, it’s a blisteringly hot Sunday afternoon and all I can think of to do with my life is to play Scrabble.

I should be out, doing exercise, spending money, meeting people. I would be too, if it wasn’t for her.

My letters are crap. I bet she’s got great letters. She always cheats at Scrabble.

Look at her, sitting there with that smug expression.

If she wasn’t here I’d be doing something with my life. I’d be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, I’d be saving 3rd world babies from the brink of starvation, I’d be starring in the latest Hollywood blockbuster opposite Sharon Stone in a red bikini.
