Job Description

Fun female part for a Sales training audio CD

Wanna have some fun? You'll need to be able to make this part your own, take direction, and have your own studio. I'll play you the part you're acting with (previously recorded) over the phone so you can react properly. You will also need to be open to a few pickups if needed. I'll take the full audio file so no editing for you.

You’ll be reading for the part of Vanessa Swift, intelligent, dedicated, Lab Manager of the “Prize Lab.” The other character, the host of a radio program, is immensely confident, and usually able to get his way in life. You are his nemesis, as he is constantly trying to snag free prizes from you -- but you are having none of it. Your character needs to have a distinctive, and a naturally “attractive” voice (though I don’t want the part played “sexy”) that is able to transition into upbeat prize reader for the prize contest plug. In the radio host character’s mind (who has never met you,) you probably look like some Selma Hayek type -- dressed in a lab coat, and “hot-scientist” glasses. I directed him as if he is asking the homecoming queen to the prom, and she’s not having any of it. Don’t play it mad, more annoyed at his never ending attempts to wheedle prizes from you. But you get to win -- you always win -- that's why he finds you so fascinating.

The actual words of the copy are not as important to us, if you read a sample, But understanding the tone, and having the ability to give the copy a laugh is vital. Feel free to read any of the pickup lines included here. The entire script is included so you can see the part in full.
