Job Description

“Mirror Mirror on the wall”…. how many generations have heard that tale, and assumed they knew all there was to know of the heroes and villains involved? Of cruel malevolent Queens, their hapless victims, dwarves, huntsmen and poisoned apples much is discussed…..but what of The Mirror? Whence it’s intelligence and what of its motives? For it had a role to play, did it not, in sending evil queens after maidens fair? And to what purpose the pursuance of these objectives? Where did The Mirror come from? Has this happened before, or since?
Beware, and look well upon this heretofore background character, for who knows better than a Looking Glass, how dark or far the shadow it casts?

This is the opening narration to a video game, the audience largely comprised of older women. This being the opening narration, needs to be fairly dramatic and quite dark, without ever becoming comic. I feel it would be better in a deeper male voice, but the ability to convey a sense of mystery and malevolence regarding the mirror is much more important.
