Job Description

Note from Voices.com: Client indicates his preference is to hire a voice talent couple for this project. If you are able to submit a demo as a couple, please do so. Client has stated that he will hire seperate voice talent for the project and edit the conversation together if he is unable to find a couple but preference will be given to voice talent that can record with that requirement.

Total Word Count for the project is 4150.

Important point:

This is a little tricky but I am looking for someone who has another voiceover actor he or she knows of the opposite sex to work with to produce conversations that will be between a man and a woman. I understand that time for some is necessary to record a demo with a partner; this is fine but please submit your own sample as soon as you can and I’ll wait for another sample with your partner. We’re eager to find the right professionals to work with.

(Though individuals alone without a partner won’t be contracted for this specific job; if you’d like to submit your voice sample for future work with lectures only, that would be great, but please mention this in your response to the ad.)

What I need done:

4 Conversations and 2 Lectures.

2 of the conversations will be natural conversations that would be likely to occur between two university students or a university student and an administrator. They are approximately 500 words each and should take 3 minutes each.

2 of the conversations will be between a professor and a student. Essentially, it’s a professor giving a lecture in a classroom with a student asking questions periodically. Each is approximately 750 words and should take 5 minutes to complete each.

The 2 lectures are given by a professor who speaks alone. Each is approximately 750 words and should take 5 minutes to complete each.

How it needs to be completed:

I would like these as 6 finished, separate audio files in two sets: mp3 and aiff.

This is to prepare English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) students for a standardized exam, so it’s important for a strong emphasis on clarity and appropriate tonal emphasis on important key words that carry meaning in the conversations and lectures.

Also, since this is to prepare students for an exam we must match exam standards. For that, the pacing is important. Conversations need to be read at 85 words per 30 seconds and lectures at 75 words per 30 seconds. This is crucial for the recordings to help students and therefore for the recordings to be accepted. I hope this won’t be too much trouble.

Timeframe for delivery:

We are in need of these as soon as possible and would need the finished audio sent by Monday (July 25th) morning at the latest; earlier would be great.

Specific Expertise:

I need to hire individuals who can create speech intended for instruction. Tone, inflection, and appropriate pauses are important.

Final words:

We’re looking to get this project done quickly. This is also one of several recordings we need to have done, so if you’re interested in future work, please don’t pass up this posting. We’re a good group of people with a passion for teaching and we’d love to have 2 great voice actors join our team.

We have 6 more recordings ready soon after this project and another set of 6 on the way to be followed by another and another. In other words, we’d love to start to work with 2 individuals who are reliable and budget friendly.

We also have in the works several other projects that require voiceover talent including reading words out lout to aid students in their correct pronunciation as well as a learning series with audio that changes daily.

Thank you for taking the time to reply with your great demo. I look forward to hearing it.
