Job Description

Please read the following for Friday Morning:

Today, I’m going to speak to you about the history of cataract surgery, from ancient times to the present. Cataract removal is one of the oldest medical procedures and, in my opinion, one of the most fascinating examples of how time and ingenuity can evolve a crude method into a state-of-the art technique.

Today, cataract removal is one of the most commonly performed surgeries.

In fact, more than 22 million Americans age 40 and older are affected by cataracts, and by age 80, more than half of Americans will have cataracts.

Cataract removal has evolved tremendously over thousands of years...and today surgery usually takes less than an hour, with minimal recovery time.

Final script will be posted next week.

Direction from the Creative Staff:
Narrator should be a man. Not too stiff, but not too over the top. It’s sort of a documentary so it should be read as such; he can have some life to him, but not too salesy or emphatic.
