Job Description

Need voice for instructional statements / questions that will complement a graphical user interface (GUI) on an automated consumer self-serve kiosk that buys used mobile phones directly from consumers and pays out cash.

The kiosk is quite sophisticated and asked the consumer to perform a variety of tasks to help test thier phone using the facilities on the kiosk to determine its precise value. Because these tasks are new to most consumers the voice is intended to provide additional cues for the user to go through the steps.

The GUI has been developed using a first person dialogue and a robot character appears on-screen and performs the dialogue (questions and statements) to help guide users through the process.

The desired voice would be a young adult, male (or androgynous), emphathetic, helpful, fun, trustworthy, and ever-so-slightly robotic sounding. Something between an Apple store geek and the robot next door.

The script is roughly 35-40 statements / questions that would show up on 25-35 different screens in the GUI process.

The audience is anyone with a mobile phone over 18 years old which is just about everybody.

Because the kiosk is sometimes in a noisy retail setting the voice needs to be clear and understandable over robotic (function over form) but a small nod to the robotic will help match the voice to the character on the screen.
