Job Description

Male, 30’s but older/wiser sounding, weary and tired to begin with but less so towards the end. Neutral or English accent.

The actor should be English and whilst they need to be wise but still relatively young sounding.

The VO starts off tired and weary, quite a slow delivery for the majority of the script. “I remember the first time I died…”, he is reminiscing internally about his experiences with death then almost moving into nostalgia towards the second delivery of this same line. The final line, “It’s how you die…” is defiant and almost optimistic in the face of inevitable and gruesome death, he’s saying “Bring it on”.

References:

Weary, like the beginning of Withnail’s Hamlet soliloquy (but not the more dramatic delivery of the ending), although a bit less posh/‘public schoolboy’.

A younger John Hurt than this, maybe 1984 or Alien.

Faramir in LOTR or Dilios in 300, both fairly young but experienced warriors.

The studio is based in Soho in Central London, however ISDN is also an option if the artist lives far away.
