Job Description

A high-profile children's publishing company is creating a new Comedy Club feature for its website. Animated comedian characters will deliver jokes submitted by children.

We are currently creating a prototype of this feature, and we are looking for a male voice actor to do 10 short jokes. Once the prototype is approved, this may turn into a much larger job.

The male comedian is middle aged and a bit corny. He should have an expressive voice and should not be sarcastic or ironic.

He's an anthropomorphic frog, so he should not sound anything like Kermit. He has a ventriloquist dummy, which he uses for question-and-answer or call-and-response jokes. So when applying for this job, you'll want a voice for the comedian as well as his dummy. It's fine if the two voices are similar, as long as there's some distinctiveness.

We are not looking for over-the-top cartoony. The characters should be believable.

To apply for the job, please send a recording for these jokes. Please include the credit line.

2) This joke was sent in by Joyce, age 9, from Pennsylvania:
Q. What wakes up a rooster?
A. An alarm clock-a-doodle-doo.

3) This joke was sent in by Samuel, age 8, from Massachusetts:
Q. What did the banana say to the hippo?
A. Nothing! Bananas can't talk!

4) This joke was sent in by Nathan, age 9, from Alabama:
Q. What sound do two porcupines make when they kiss?
A. Ouch!

5) This joke was sent in by Samantha, age 8, from Texas:
Q. What did the baby banana say to the mama banana?
A. I don't peel good.
