Job Description

I’m re-posting this job with a revised script and some updated coaching cues.

With my company Gisteo (, we'll be producing an animated version of a character that a client has come up with.

The character is called "General Healthy" and you can read some background here:

This is potentially going to be an ongoing series so we'll obviously use the same voice over talent on an ongoing basis. I'm looking for non-union talent. Also, this is a pilot project so the budget ideally will not exceed $150.

The vision I have for this voice over style is somewhat that of R. Lee Ermey from Full Metal Jacket and, more recently, the GEICO commercials.

You can view some reference clips here:

He also has shade of Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men when he gets really passionate about something:

BUT: this is where I need to update this. Since this is going to be a series and General Healthy is going to be talking a lot, I think we need to tone him down some and show a range of emotion. Most of the initial audition were over-the-top angry (tough to listen to on an ongoing basis) so I’ve updated the script with more coaching cues and fonts cues that should help. General Healthy should have three sort of “speeds” or tones when he reads:

1. Default: strong, firm, confident and mature (marked in normal font)

2. Angry: when he gets super passionate and wants to reinforce a point (marked in bold caps.). If we turn up the dial only at certain points, it’ll make his momentary rants even more poignant.

3. Introspective: when he wants to shift gears and get kind of pensive, slightly softer and calmer for a moment (marked in a smaller font).

I’ve attached the revised script. Note, since this is such a unique project, I’m not real interested in demo reels on this one. Only custom auditions will be considered.

Looking forward to the auditions!
