We require a professional VO artist who speaks Japanese as a first language to help create a new language version for one of our iPad applications.

This person must have an authentic accent and use correct pronunciation as these VOs will be used as part of a program to teach children basic words in Japanese (Kana / Romaji)

Preferably you should have their own studio or easy access to one as more VOs and or takes may need to be recorded in the future. If you'd had experience teaching Japanese before that would also be great.

The VOs will be used in application that teaches children basic words and letters so it is important that pronunciation is correct but also fun (and a bit motherly). If you can, please download our existing example or check out the application on this short video:

The scope of the project includes recording the following:

450 single words translated and recorded (Each word, letter, and phrase should be saved with a particular file naming convention supplied)
Phonetics and sounds for every characters in the alphabet? Possibly – we're not sure how this works (will be be able to do most of these nouns in Kana?). We really are clueless about the Japanese language apart from some basics...
Individual files saved in a particular format, using syntax provided (mp3 or wav)
Consultation – let us know about certain requirements that might involve extra work before the project begins. Is there anything special we need to know about the Japanese language for this project? What's the best way to translate what we are doing in the English version of our product for the Japanese market?

We really know nothing about Japanese – we are looking for an expert in the language who can help put together the project requirements for this language as well. There might be contract work available for consultancy outside of voices.com – but for the time being please make your bid for for ~450 files recorded and translated + however many alphabet (or character) recordings might be involved (for both pronunciation and sound), with some friendly advice on how we should be doing things for this language.

To be considered for this job please provide a sample of the following phrase:

"Is it a dog, a donkey, or an elephant?"

You could do this in English and Japanese if possible.
