Job Description

I seek an experienced, engaging female narrator for a television documentary about the history of creative writing in Iowa City, Iowa. The primary audience is state wide, public television; the secondary audience is anyone who will watch the film online (local, regional, or national).

Attached is a sample of the script. The actual full-length script is 1,800 words.

ARTISTIC DIRECTION: I need a female narration voice that is experienced enough to sound authoritative and dispassionate at the same time; calm and confident. Someone who is comfortable with the role of carrying a story and keeping the audience engaged and interested. This story ranges from historical narrative (1800 through 20th century) to the contemporary literary scene.

The calm, restrained yet dramatic style of Liev Schreiber in the following clip is the closest example I can cite of what I seek stylistically in a female narration:

'America: The Story of Us"(Liev Schreiber )

Ideally, I would like to do the VO session via Skype or by phone. Very high recording quality is a must. I need I will need the dry narration track (no effects) provided as either very high res AAC or 48K AIFF file.

NOTE: Please record just the sample script if you are interested in this gig, you can skip a long self-introduction. If you want to try the script a couple ways that is fine. Stock/commercial demos will likely be deleted.

I am a prompt communicator and easy to work with. Thanks very much for your interest in this project!
