Job Description

Amache WWII internment camp voice over:

Character/Direction: Japanese Male, 60s with Japanese accent.

Script excerpt:
For us, it wasn’t such a surprise. Since we had arrived in America years before Pearl Harbor we had faced prejudice – we couldn’t own land, we could only work on other peoples’ farms. The hatred wasn’t new for us. // We were brought up on the American dream and couldn’t put that together with how we were treated. Why were we there? Because we were the wrong race. It was such a sad feeling to know that my country, where I was born and raised, did not trust me.
