Job Description

This is a mature Mexican-American male VO for a local :30 TV commercial showing a Mexican-American teacher in his mid-60s in an empty classroom, packing up his desk on the day of his retirement. The VO is IN ENGLISH but it should have a subtle Mexican-American accent, not thickly accented, and it must sound absolutely authentic to a Mexican-American audience (no faked accents please), that's why this is posted as a bi-lingual listing.

The VO is his voice reflecting on his life and legacy, as if he is thinking to himself, but voiced fully (not whispered). He is a well educated man, a teacher. This is not announcing or narration, it is the character speaking his own thoughts to himself, so the job requires acting rather than announcing.

The quality is warm, honest, real, soulful, reflective, gently bemused at times. A man reflecting on his life’s accomplishments and at peace with his legacy.

SCRIPT: How many students have I taught? It has to be close to ... eight thousand!
It's funny. By now, my first students have to be grandparents themselves!
Hopefully, a few of them I've actually inspired.

Thank you for your audition!
