Job Description

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS JOB, CLIENT REQUIRES A CUSTOM AUDITION OF A SELECTION OF THE FOLLOWING TRUNCATED SCRIPT.

This is a portion of the nine page (917 word) script which includes instructions. Direction -- confident, warm and friendly. But, it is an instructional product demo.

OPENING:

Smiths Medical has been providing sharps safety devices to healthcare workers for over fifteen years. The Needle-Pro® device is the foundation of a series of safety products that are designed to reduce the incidences of needlestick injuries by minimizing critical exposure time.
Portex® Needle-Pro® devices have been providing clinicians with effective protection against needlesticks for over a decade. Needle-Pro® devices are designed to reduce sharps exposures, protect healthcare workers, and comply with NIOSH/CDC recommendations* for the selection of needle protection devices. All Needle-Pro® devices are:

Safe: Contaminated needles are enclosed in a sturdy, puncture resistant sheath.

Simple: The integral hinged protective sheath snaps into place with a gentle push against a flat surface. Activation is easily heard and seen by clinicians.

Consistent: All Needle-Pro® devices have the same engagement technology that makes standardization and training universal and simple.

------------------

Peel the blister pouch open halfway and grasp the needle cap using the pouch. To prevent contamination, be careful not to touch the needle hub. With an easy twisting motion, attach a luer slip or luer lock syringe to the needle hub.

(PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION:)

Peel the blister pouch open and remove the entire device while grasping the syringe barrel. Position the Needle-Pro® device away from the needle. Seat the needle firmly on the Needle-Pro® device with a push and a clockwise twist.

• Remove the needle cap from the needle using a “push-pull” technique

Draw up medication. Express air and administer medication.

• Engage the Needle-Pro® device using a one-handed technique by gently pressing the sheath of the needle protection device against any flat surface. DO NOT use your free hand to press the protective sheath over the needle. As the sheath is pressed, the needle firmly engages into the sheath with an audible click. Visually confirm that the needle is fully engaged into the needle protection sheath. Dispose of the entire device in an approved sharps container immediately after engaging the safety feature
