Job Description

This is a :60 radio spot for Michigan’s Office of Highway Safety Planning. It is non-union and pays a one time flat fee (buyout).

The role of the Narrator pays $500 (this includes using one of your lines in a TV version of the spot) and the role of Everyday Person pays $250.

The Narrator must be a man 40 or older and the read should be confident with a little bit of edge, not like a typical announcer read that is straightforward without emotion (don’t sound pandering). The Everyday Person should be 51 or older and must read like how a normal person would read, in other words, don’t sound like you’re acting. Must sound like you’re stopped on the street and asked a question randomly.

*Actors from Michigan’s upper peninsula are encouraged to audition, or especially if you have the ability to speak with a northern Michigan dialect without sounding forced or comical (aka the ‘yupper’ accent).

Feel free to read both the Narrator and the Everyday Person role if you want to audition for both. Please do not audition if you are already in a state of Michigan commercial.

Please supply 2 reads – 1 like we asked for and 1 like your way. *Please send a file labeled with just your first and last name and please send by Wednesday morning. Thank you for your time and talent and good luck.
