Job Description

This project is a 30-second ad (22 seconds allotted for your voiceover, see note below) on the rising cost of healthcare in America under President Obama. We are looking for a middle-aged female voice who can be a strong narrator but also sounds like someone you can relate to if you were next door neighbors. She is disappointed in politicians who make the same promises every four years, only to break those promises once elected into office. She is the type of person who has watched her healthcare costs go up and up; not only for herself, but for her family, for her parents, for her neighbors. Your voice must be strong, clear, and confident in narrating the facts (laid out in lines 4, 5, 6, which should flow as a series), and then lay out the inevitable conclusion in lines 7, 8, 9. i.e.: He made a promise -- it didn't happen. Costs are up (fact-fact-fact). It's yet another broken promise (in a world with too many of them).

We have a separate voiceover recording for the disclaimer (4 seconds long), and the ad includes a video clip of Obama (also 4 seconds long), so your part of script would be only 60 words and would need to fit in under 22 seconds flat. Please see attached script. We are on a tight production deadline (editing Sun 3/4 and Mon 3/5), so we love it when applicants post a custom demo so we can hear what the script would sound like!

The client is a well-known national political organization, and the rate below includes the ability to use the voiceover in any medium (TV, radio or web; right now it is scheduled to be a web ad, but the client would like to retain the option to run the ad on TV and radio as well). This organization will be active throughout the 2012 election cycle, so if this works out and they are comfortable with the voiceover rate for projects like this, I am hoping this will lead to more projects down the road as well.

In your response, please also indicate if you provide non-competitive assurances for political clients (i.e., whether you provide voiceovers for Republican-aligned groups only, Democrat-aligned groups only, or both parties.) It's not a big deal, just something we like to know.

Thank you for your interest, and good luck!
