Cantron Ltd. is a manufacturer of centralized vacuum systems located in Canada that has gone through several acquisitions. The company was previously owned by Steve Heinrich, who sold it to a German parent company, Rohrtech. As a result of this sale, Rohrtech became the majority shareholder in Cantron, and placed their representatives to serve as Chairman and Board members. Steve Heinrich remained as President and General Manager.

Several years later, Rohrtech was later acquired by a European conglomerate who wanted greater control over Cantron. Cantron fell into complete ownership when Jean Parrot, Cantron’s Head of Operations in Quebec and a minority shareholder sold his shares, forcing Steve Heinrich to give up his shares. As a result of the ongoing tension and the new ownership relationship with Cantron, Heinrich was dismissed and Parrot was appointed President.

As a result of the turbulent times, there have been significant changes in the management structure of Cantron, creating tension and resentment over the dismissals and new hires for the company. The lack of communication & teamwork, combined with the failure to manage change, and the struggle for power and control amongst management has resulted in a complete breakdown of the Board & management’s ability to function in the best interests of the company.
