Job Description

This is for an epic, historical first person shooter game for release on PC and XBox 360 in 3Q/4Q 2008.

This character is a ~25 yr old male. He's the object of a player goal in the game and ends up serving as a companion for the player though a big chunk of the game.

He's a young soldier from the Midwest who still has a touch of 'gee-whiz look at the big city' to him. He's easy going and friendly but tends to get freaked out in the heat of battle. His speech is unhurried and rural but definitely from the midwest... no southern accents. This character could be compared to Luke Skywalker or a more mature Radar O'Reilly.

Please quote for 1000 words, allowing for 2 additional pickup sessions at up to 250 words each and buyout licensing. Quote rates for additional pickup sessions as well (these guys like to change their minds!)

I'll accept auditions through January 15th and present the best to the development team at a benchmark meeting towards the end of January. Selected talent will be contacted in February after script tweaking and expected to deliver finished audio in one week. Pickups will take place through March, possibly April.

Talent not cast for this role will be considered for other minor characters. Only custom demos will be considered but watermarking is welcome.

Here are the lines for audition:

W: (to player) Looks like it’s you and me again. Keep an eye out… I have a feeling we’ll be seeing the elephant again ‘fore we grab a root.

W: Stop yer jawings! There’s a whole boatload of those suckers coming our way… get off the road and under cover!

W: ‘less you want to be mustered out where you stand, you best be quiet.

W: If they saw us, we’re in a world of trouble… sneak out there and see if the coast is clear!

W: Damnation! That was just the recon… there’s a bunch more comin’. Get over in them trees and get down!

W: OK, they’re gone. Let’s get a move on… and keep your eyes open!

W: Sweet mother of god! There’s a picket line coming out of the trees. Make a dash for those rocks!
