Job Description

This is for an epic, historical first person shooter game for release on PC and XBox 360 in 3Q/4Q 2008.

This character is a ~45 yr old female. She is the main character that interacts with the player. We never see her in the game, she is represented by video screens and a disembodied voice.

She is the ultimate mother, capable of dishing out mounds of sweet praise and piles of bitter rebuke, often in adjoining paragraphs. The character has a wide emotional range, seemingly bulletproof at most times while showing confusion and vulnerability at key moments. By way of comparison, think of classic and modern 'strong' female actors: Meryl Streep, Kate Hepburn, Sigourney Weaver

Please quote for 2500 words, allowing for 2 additional pickup sessions at up to 500 words each and buyout licensing. Quote rates for additional pickup sessions as well (these guys like to change their minds!)

I'll accept auditions through January 15th and present the best to the development team at a benchmark meeting towards the end of January. Selected talent will be contacted in February after script tweaking and expected to deliver finished audio in one week. Pickups will take place through March, possibly April.

Talent not cast for this role will be considered for other minor characters. Only custom demos will be considered but watermarking is welcome.

Here are the lines for audition:

M: We can put him back on the right track, but he will die at the POW camp if we don’t rescue him. You must infiltrate the camp, find Smith and get him back here. You may experiment with weapons in the training area but I must send you in unarmed. My ability to send you help will be limited, but it will be enough to get you through.

M: (passive aggressive) Oh, there you are! I was beginning to worry… you see, if you dally overlong, it makes it much more difficult to get back here. And surely I don’t need to tell you how dangerous it can be to talk to strangers.

M: Very well done. I knew you had it in you! And now I know how far you’re willing to go for me. The Opposition is becoming more aggressive, not that that’s any news to you. They’re somehow tracking your position and they’ll keep trying to stop you. I try to even the playing field with this special weapon, but you'll still in for an uphill climb.
