Job Description

We are looking for a female announcer to provide general overview announcements and notifications to players in our forthcoming multiplayer online battle arena game. The script will contain a series of short announcements that will be played at select points throughout matches to highlight different stages within the match and to notify players of important events. The voice we are looking for is soothing and agreeable - like the stereotypical pre-recorded female announcer - but with a little edge or attitude that gives the announcer a personality. For reference points search youtube for the Team Fortress 2 announcer or for GLaDOS (but imagine if that voice wasn't computerized). We are aiming for this game to be accessible to a wide audience of gamers and non-gamers so feel free to draw inspiration from sources external to the gaming world, but bear in mind that this game will have a fantasy setting. Also, the work we are looking for at this moment is an initial pass at the in-game announcer, should things work out to our satisfaction there will most likely be follow up work as we revise our script and solidify our artistic direction. Please submit samples in .wav format.
