Job Description

This video requires about a 10-minute voice over. It will be used for a local speakers bureau to inform small civic groups about a local seaport's facilities and benefits to local citizens and businesses.

We need a non-accent assertive female voice. We will handle all music and SFX in post.

First preference will be given to talent who can record with us on location in our studio in Cocoa, Florida.

Please find a portion of the script below for audition purposes. Full script available in attachment.

Before the 1950’s, there was no inlet where Port Canaveral now stands. The coastline of
Brevard County flowed gently southward without a break. But two separate
interests—military and commercial—recognized this area’s potential and lobbied the federal
government to make a new cut in the coastal landscape.
And so Port Canaveral came into existence to serve her country and her community—by
supporting military defense efforts and drawing new economic opportunities into the
region. These missions continue today.
Sections of the Port are owned and operated by the U.S. military. The Coast Guard has a
local presence here, and the Army and Navy host submarine and surface warship visits at
their wharfs.

The remainder of the port and surrounding acreage belongs to the Canaveral Port Authority,
a government agency created by the Florida legislature to manage the commercial port for
the economic benefit of the region. The Canaveral Port Authority today consists of five
elected Commissioners who establish policy and more than 200 employees who handle the
day-to-day operations.
