Job Description

We are looking for a dramatic, deep, male voice to drive an somewhat depressed monologue about the horror of war. The voice should by slightly typical for a war VO, gritty and unassuming, suggestive that the speaker has seen too much of combat. The voice should be American, middle-aged, as a grizzled veteran who has become disillusioned with his cause.

The tone of the VO is not over the top, not overly performative, but moving and depressing. It should feel as if the speaker is recording a diary or memoir at the end of his career, a grim picture of the way the world has progressed. The speaker should not become provocative, or energized, instead he should hold a steady pace as if talking to himself rather than to an audience or listener. The climax towards the end of the speech should not be reached through a ramping up of pace, tone or vocal excitement, the content and meaning of the speech should achieve that alone
