Job Description

Sometimes the Beach is a MOOD book. I want the listener to FEEL like they have been to the beach by the time they are finished listening to the audio book. My initial thoughts were to look for a full, rich, soulful voice to do the audio. However, I am open to younger sounding voices and other voices as long as they are sincere.

First please listen to this sample audio: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrRKg3Xi-J4]]

I like the expression the lady gives and the way she reads it. I am just looking for someone with a richer voice. This is a mood book, I want the listener to be transported from whereever they are onto a nice sandy beach. I want them to leave as if they have had a wonderful experience.

MORNING BEACH:

Sound calm, quiet, soft, soothing, observative. Sound like you just woke up (but you aren't tired) and you're ready for a new, wonderful day at the beach.

SUNNY BEACH

Sound excited! It's time for fun! Sound happy, observative, joyful, thrilled. It's an awesome day at the beach with perfect weather! Listen carefully to the youtube video I posted, she did a great job here.

CLOUDY BEACH

Sound subdued. Sound calm, reflective, and relaxed. You're walking the pier today to toss breadcrumbs to the seagulls.

STORMY BEACH

Sound alert! Sound cautious (but not scared), alert, and wide eyed. The sky is full of dark rain clouds, thunder is rumbling! It's windy and raining hard. Picture what a child thinks of this, and read from that emotion.

SUNSET BEACH

Sound dreamy. Sound imaginative, and dreamy, calm, relaxed, artistic, and fun. Sound like you are a young child observing all of the wonderful dreamlike colors of a beautiful sunset over the ocean.

MOONLIT BEACH

Sound reflective. Sound fun, observative, reflective, introspective. You're ending the day at the beach, but you're not tired yet. There's still fun to be had listening to a live band.

Overall, have fun and sound like you are reading from the perspective of a young, wide-eyed child enjoying the beach. Do not exaggerate, please! NO FAKE VOICES. Sound sincere.
