Job Description

We are looking for a male voice with some personality and authority. It is a serious educational piece but we would like a dynamic read. We most definitely do not want a straight announcer voice.

Budget for this project is $900.

Thank you.

Please find a portion of the script below for audition purposes. Full script available in attachment.

VO:

Houston and the surrounding region. This is a land of opportunity and “can do” spirit.

(Dramatic pause)

Our region is the kind of place where big ideas typically become larger-than-life realities. Throw any challenge our way and we meet it head on. But are we really ready for anything?

VO:

The Houston region is home to more than 6 million people, with the majority living about 40 feet above sea level – in a major hurricane landing-zone. Since 1851, sixty hurricanes have struck the Texas Gulf Coast – 19 of them a category three or higher. And the Galveston hurricane of 1900 still ranks as the deadliest storm in U.S. history, killing more than 8,000 people.

Even when hurricane season misses us, we run the risk of being engulfed by violent storms, tornadoes or devastating flooding.
