Job Description

I need a series of 10-20 short educational English lessons narrated in sync with slideshows.

They are targeted at graduate students so we are seeking a charismatic and didactic instructor's voice.

Budget is not yet determined, please advise.

Please find the slide show attached which the voiceover will be used to sync with.

Critical Reasoning: Argument Structure – Overview

A Critical Reasoning argument, for example, “John is a doctor. Therefore, he is highly intelligent”, usually consists of two parts: a premise – in this case, “John is a doctor”, and a conclusion – in this case, “He is highly intelligent”.
A premise is factual data, a given, something we should always accept as true. A conclusion is a statement based on the premise.

Note that not all arguments consist of both a premise and a conclusion - some arguments consist of premises only.

A conclusion can be logical or flawed. For example, the conclusion that John is highly intelligent because of the fact that he is a doctor is logical – it makes sense. On the other hand, if, on the basis of the premise that john is a doctor I conclude that he can cure any disease, my conclusion is flawed.

The premise and the conclusion do not have a fixed order. An argument can begin with a premise just as it can with a conclusion. For instance, in this example, the argument begins with the premise “John is a doctor” and ends with the conclusion “he is highly intelligent”. But in this example, the argument begins with the conclusion “John is highly intelligent” and continues with the premise “John is a doctor”.

This means that we cannot assume that the first part of the argument is always the premise or the conclusion. We should give the matter some thought.
