Job Description

We require a voiceover to lead the audience through specific features of a videogame set in the old wild west.

The narrator is a gruff, mean, fast-talking cowboy, a veteran of shootout's, posses and duels. He should be authoritative, rough, with a definite western twang. However, the VO should not be the cliche'd 'old timer', it's important that the VO is somehow 'bad-ass', rather than the rootin tootin' style.

The game itself is an irreverent, quick-paced shooter from a successful franchise. The Script therefore reflects a sense of fun and has comic moments brought through the VO, so it's important that the voice has good timing, articulation and can enhance the jokes and comic moments.

Currently, we're considering a couple of different directions for the read, so we're looking for someone to really get into and 'live' the character, who can take the concept and add in incidental moments, coughs, chuckles and anything else relevant to the script and style of the trailer.

Whilst adding in that characterisation is important, it's paramount that the information get's across in a clear, concise fashion. The features that the narrator is describing are the most important feature of the trailer/walkthrough.

I've added a script below - it'd be great to hear from people.

It's a long script (around 3 minutes of almost wall-to-wall VO) so we'll need to have a relatively long directing session when the voice is chosen.

If in the US, you'll need to have an ISDN connection or a suitable way for us to dial in during a live record.
