Job Description

This is for a spec commercial, I'm making for "Spot Lab" www.group101spots.com

SpotLab is the only program solely devoted to promoting and encouraging new and established commercial directors to share resources, experiment, make contacts and improve their craft in a challenging and creative community.

SpotLab directors meet once a month for 3 months at an ad agency or production company to screen their latest work and invite criticism from industry mentors.

In these roundtable sessions, mentors from advertising and production offer insight not just on how to avoid common "spec" mistakes, but also provide practical information on partnering with production companies and ad agencies, maximizing communication in client conference calls, highlighting a brand and choosing a niche.

I need the voice of a 30 year old Male. He is young and recently married. He is speaking on the cell phone with his wife buying wine at a liquor store.

It's really important that this be played real and strait. Think of his wife like she is training him. He loves her but is trying to find his way from the old days when they were dating and he didn't have to worry about this stuff.

SCRIPT

…isn't Cabernet with steak standard? (Pause) '97. (Pause) What do you mean "that's too good to drink"—that doesn't make any sense! (Pause) Fine, how about a Beaujolais? (Pause) No, I'm not kidding! (Pause) Well, if you wanted a '99 Pinot why didn't you tell me in the first place?

He notices the younger guys watching him. --

(In Phone) I gotta pay for this. I'll call you from the car... yeah...I love you too... (To the guys, who are younger than he is, at the register) 'Sup fellas.

the "sup fellas" line he is trying to connect with guys who are younger than him. He doesn't realize that he has lost it and can't go back to the "beer run" days.
