Job Description

Hi Evan,

This is Korby Sears, and I’m an sound design and audio engineer here in Seattle. I’m coming to you about a possible VO gig.

The work is for three 15 second videos that will be on-line bumpers for the upcoming Olympics. The audio track will be an exciting, dramatic play-by-play announcer commentating on an Olympic event, while the concurrent video will show a young child practicing the sport (in other words, from youngsters grow our future Olympic atheletes). The VO is dramatic and sincere, not humorous or caricatured.

The three spots / personas are the following:

American Sportcaster (slightly nasal) - calling a gymnastic event
British Sportscaster - calling a soccer match
Australian Sportscaster - calling a swimming match

This site only let's me attach one file, so I have a sample file of the Aussie voice that the client sent as a guiedline. Anything close to these will work. Record date would be around June 23rd. Each spot will be about 8 lines, and each spot would pay around $250 for an hour (though we would probably get everything we need, including back-up material, in 30 minutes).

Right now, I'm in the stage of gathering demos from people for potential candidates, just pulling them off their website and sending along to the client to choose. Your Voices.com profile had a good British accent. Also mentioned that you do Australian, but didn’t hear it on the demo.

Deadline for me to turn in demos is this Monday. However, if I sent you a script, would you happen to have time to send an audition file for the Brit and Aussie accents? Like 4 lines each? If not, maybe if you could send me sample Aussie and British accents from your demo, that would be great.

Thanks! Hope to hear from you soon.

Korby Sears

P.S. If you wanted to see the original video that the sample sound files came from, you can download them here:
