Job Description

Broadcast commercial for the San Diego Culinary Institute.
The spot will run regionally on TV and on the web.
The spot shows an aspiring chef filleting a salmon with a serious, straightforward air.

“Salmon”
Male actor with a strong, believable, consistent Norwegian/scandinavian accent.
Emphasis on believability paired with comedy.
TONE: Very excitable, enthusiastic; bordering on nervous energy.
He's a mentor and an inspiration, but also… a fish.
He reacts to the actions happening on-camera (being filet-ed, portioned, etc) convincingly but unpredictably (enjoys being cut, mentors the portioning..)
The spot is shot very straight with a focused, diligent tone so the VO does all the comedic heavy lifting.
The right read will ride the line between over the top and complete role immersion in a world where someone (our on camera talent) is so in-tune to their aspirations they hear their craft talking back to them.
BE the salmon.
