Job Description

The film is an adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven". Our talent needs to be or sound like an older gentleman. The character is a large man, but weak from age. Therefore, we need a deep, booming voice that shows age.

Talent will need to read both narration and dialogue and be capable of delivering intense, emotional moments.

The budget is currently not set (which means selected budget range does not apply). The film will be getting a large amount of exposure and the talent will receive sole character credit for the film.

If you are able to create a custom demo, please provide an example of both narration and dialogue from the poem.

Please find a portion of the script below for audition purposes. Full script available in attachment.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
" 'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door;
Only this, and nothing more."

"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil!--prophet still, if bird or devil!
Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate, yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted--
On this home by horror haunted--tell me truly, I implore:
Is there--is there balm in Gilead?--tell me--tell me I implore!"
Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."
