Job Description

DIRECTION: We're looking for an African American female voice quality to read in a natural, narrative enthusiastic and upbeat tone - without sounding over the top or announcer like.

SCRIPT: This is a truncated version of the script. The total read is about 1 - 1 1/2 pages (Still being developed):

In the spring of 2005, the American Council for Fitness and Nutrition launched a series of events across the country called "TRIUMPH:" Trends, Resources, and Inspiration for Understanding and Maintaining Physical Health, to highlight the efforts and successes being made to fight obesity in our communities.

And, success is just what TRIUMPH found. In Little Rock, Austin, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, Albuquerque, and other communities large and small across the nation, people are organizing and helping one another learn how to lead healthier and more physically active lifestyles.

Along the way, TRIUMPH discovered more than successful physical fitness and nutrition programs -- It discovered communities and cities that are dedicated to helping people lead healthier lifestyles. In Austin, Mayor Will Wynn stressed his commitment to making his city the fittest in nation by 2006. And, in Philadelphia, Mayor John Street spoke of his passion for creating a walkable and bikeable city.

As TRIUMPH learned during its eight-city tour, while elected officials can play a critical role in the success of healthy communities, leaders for eating right and staying active come in all stripes. In Baltimore, Barabarajean Shaneman [SHANE – E – MUN], the health and life skills coordinator for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Maryland, talked about the active role she takes in teaching children about energy balance.
