Job Description

Note from Voices.com - Client has selected and paid for talent via the SurePay system. Thank you.

Young (early 20s), Amish (English with hints of soft Germanic in accent), plain spoken, thoughtful, sincere, modest, intelligent.

This is a voiceover for a book trailer (like a video trailer, only for books)

I'm attaching a version of the script that includes thumbnail images of the video that will be playing during the voiceover, so you can get a feel for the atmosphere of the trailer.

I am an Amish woman
I am a widow
I am Rachel

When my husband Eli was taken, a terrible secret stayed with me.
From that day, sorrow filled my heart. A sorrow dark, inconsolable, and surely grievous to my God.

These three years since, I’ve continued my daily routine: Helping my brother work our fields, caring for the animals, attending church, and serving others in our community.

Yet still I struggle to find joy and regain my peace.

Then tonight he came—the Englischer—bursting into our world and into my home like an injured black bear blown down from the mountain by a storm. Destroying any peace I might have gained.

He lies on my spare bed even now, drenched in rain and blood and river water, singed with the smell of gunshot and smoke, and cloaked in secrets that are surely darker than my own. He hardly seems alive.

Once he did open his eyes, and in that moment, it was almost as though he looked right into my soul.

But could any man with a wound so severe live through this night?

If he does not live, may God keep his spirit.
If he does live, may God help us all.
