I'm a musician and recording engineer trying to build a second career in the world of voice acting, particularly narrating for audio books. I started listening to audiobooks recently and knew right away that I could what these narrators were doing, and that there was more than likely some good compensation in it. I remember doing an announcement over the intercom in high school, and a guidance counselor who I barely knew came up to me afterwards and enthusiastically said, "You have an excellent voice for radio." Radio might not be where I end up, although I'm confident I could hold down the fort if I was given a position by a local station. Whatever I find to be my niche, whether it's audiobooks, TV commericals, cartoons, etc., I'm determined to become established and develop a promising career for myself.

In addition to being the front man in a band, learning to operate and work with quite a bit of pro-audio equipment (both for live sound and studio applications), I've provided voices on local/independent films and have been interviewed on the radio several times with my band. Occasionally, I edit sound for independent films and create sound effects for them in my studio. I've also done announcements over intercoms in a few schools, and some DJ gigs for a few weddings where I had to make quite a few announcements over a mic, in an MC-like style.

A CD in the mail or download the files/transfer through voices.com, I would imagine... Whatever works.
Quick.... for just a few paragraphs or pages, 1 to 2 days. For a 300-page book, probably 7 to 10 days.
I am prepared to accept as many jobs as I can handle for audio books, radio commercials, documentaries... really anything that can be read. I'll record the pieces in my professional home studio with the utmost efficiency and quality, convert the files to the appropriate format, and turn them back around to the costumer in as little time possible. I have the voice for a wide range of projects and I aim to expand my operation into a substantial business from the ground up.
