He was born into an all-female household in Mexico, being the only of Lebanese parents. Surrounded by a highly creative and artistic family, supporters and lovers of the unknown, at the age of 5 he performed his first singing act in front of 300 people at the Spring Festival in town, where he was crowned "King of Spring".
With the support of his mother, who also choreographed, wrote, and directed, all his theater and church plays; he moved to the United States at age 16. A few years later he was casted as the star host and actor for a comedic, practical jokes show in Channel 22, Los Angeles. The show, directed and produced by Rodrigo Barajas and Charlie Bravo (Univision), ran for two very successful years.
After that, Mauricio decided to improve his abilities and went into further training in both comedy, and acting. He studied in The Working Stage in Hollywood under Adam Marcus and Deb Sullivan. He did the same at The Comedy Institute with Greg Wilson as his teacher.
Recently, Mauricio has grown as a name in the LA stand-up comedy scene, hosting and producing The Agaves Comedy Show in Long Beach, as well as Westside Funniest Presents at Carbon Bar LA; also performing and sharing the stage with figures such as Ahmed Ahmed, Maz Jiobrani, Brian Callen, Bill Bur, Cris D’Elia, Bobbie Lee, Erik Griffin, Adam Devine, The Greg Wilson, Elliot Chang, Whitney Cummings, Leslie Wilson, Erick Schwartz, etc. at The Comedy Store, Laugh Factory, Sardo's, Ha Ha Cafe, and The Garage. He has also worked doing voice over for Anne Fletcher, and taken part in movies such as “Agency” directed by Georges N. Chamchoum; and “The Traveler – Mosafer” by Ali Hatef. This last film premiered in London at the Portobello Film Festival, the Canes Film Festival and The newly formed “Cinema In Exile” in 2014. A second collaboration with Ali Hatef came not long after for a music video with BBC London called “The Draught”.
Throughout the years, Mauricio has alternated his successful career as a Certified Aerospace, Nuclear and Missile Welder Fabricator for companies such as Boeing, Hill Aerospace and Lukas Machine, with his artistic and event planning, and hosting career, as well as entrepreneurial activities in Real State.
His talents are definitely diverse and ever growing, fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic, as well as some knowledge of Portuguese and Italian; trained in moto racing, and weapon combat, as well as singing and guitar playing. Being loved within the Lebanese and Hispanic communities of Los Angeles, has allowed him to become essential in the organization and production of events such as the Asian World Film Festival in Culver City, and the “LGBT Hero Awards”, among other events.
