On air career began in 1978. First drive-time position in 1989 at WKXX-FM in Birmingham, Alabama which would include production/imaging director. Success in afternoons helped propel the locally produced "Kicks 106 Hometown Countdown" to be among the market leaders for highest rated hours on weekends. From Birmingham to Tampa, Florida to work for Mason Dixon at WMTX-AM & FM as production director for Billboard and Bobby Poe Award winning Mix 96. After Dixon's departure, produced local content for "The Big Show" with Scott Shannon and Todd Pettengill via satellite from WPLJ-FM in New York including parody material for bits and show opens used on the network. Over the next dozen years in Tampa, would serve in production and on air rolls for, Metroplex, Paxon, Jacor/Clear Channel, and Infinity/CBS Radio. Afternoon personality and production/imaging director for CBS's WRBQ-FM (Q-105) from 2001 to 2006. During that time, received a Crystal Communicator Award for commercial production. Served as a program director for 5 years for Cumulus Media in Albany, Georgia, Des Moines, Iowa, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. John and his wife, Lisa, have returned home to the Sunshine State and recently became proud, first-time parents of a healthy, happy, baby girl named Jane Audrey! John is currently afternoon drive host on WGHR-FM, Hits 106.
