I was on Television and radio over the War Memorial incident. I received many calls of support and several noted that I had a great voice. It is apparently deep, clear and convincing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBa0FhYfAnU I have always loved accents and I can imitate many convincingly. I speak French fluently , with a Canadian Accent. I speak German and Spanish ; but with a foreign accent, which could be of interest to tourism agencies, for example, having a visitor describe a country in the local language . I apparently emote well which can be an asset. I am a dentist with considerable training in teaching. I was also an active member of Toastmasters, an excellent way to learn speaking . http://www.internationalmovietrailerfestival.com/all-trailers/instinct/ this is a voice over for a trailer I was asked to present.

As a member of Toastmasters club I was certified as a Competent Toastmaster. This gave me considerable insight into many aspects of speech and public speaking
I was a trained instructor in the Royal Canadian Dental Corps, this gave me experience in presentation techniques which included both materials to teach and how to get the attention of students who ranged from Hygienists to dentists .
I was a lecturer for Den-mat a California dental material company. I presented at several venues to fellow dentists on techniques and materials. I spoke in Montreal, Toronto, Atlanta and Las Vegas .
I lectured a dental hygiene class at Algonquin College in Ottawa.
I had an hour long monthly health program on a local broadcasting Station in Ottawa .
I was involved in an incident where the War Memorial and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were abused. I shamed the Canadian Government into finally putting Sentries at the memorial. I was on TV 18 times and on radio 10 in English and French.
I have become interested in acting in cinema. There is an active cinema community in Ottawa . I have done a few commercial voice overs with Pat Fry who has a studio, but he is moving . I did a voice over for a trailer and appeared in a couple of roles in cinema. Some are on Vimeo and available on request.
My teaching, public speaking and public roles are almost 20 years. Actual voice over and acting is 18 months, with great feedback.
I am a graduate dentist from McGill. I also have a post doctorate from U of Toronto in Public health. These can be an asset in convincing ads on pharmaceutical and medical ads.
I have also travelled the world in my "Misspent youth" and I have a good understanding and feeling for various ethnic groups I was a trained dental auxiliary instructor in the Royal Canadian Dental Corps. I also earned Paratrooper wings with the Canadian Airborne Regiment. This gave me a real insight into "fear" :)

I am a keen "student' of advertising. This goes back to "The Hidden Persuaders" a book written by Vance Packard. I read it in High School and it opened up a fascinating world of advertising techniques and the subtleties involved. . On a Canadian Forces management course I was introduced to Dr Edward de Bono, a British /Maltese Neurophysiologist. He wrote such books as "Thinking outside the box" , "Water Logic" and " Lateral thinking" and many others. His approach to advertising, management and everyday creative thinking is to "Think outside the box." Logic is go from point A to point B and so on. De Bono teaches how we should from from A to B to seven then to blue etc...creative not linear. And finally a "hero" of mine is Kevin Roberts, the CEO of 7 billion a year Saatchi and Saatchi , perhaps the AD agency. He is a self made man. I saw him on CNN where he described how he quit school at a dead end when he was 16. He went to London and worked at Mary Quant's fashion shop ( She developed / promoted the mini skirt) He worked in the shipping room. Now and then he would give them ideas on how to present an item in the store window or on the shelves. His creativity lead to many ad agency promotions . His feeling is that a good ad is based on Emotion not information. When I watch TV or read an ad this is always something I note. Bell Canada had a great ad on the 2004 anniversary of D-Day. A young man with a cell phone is on a beach. He calls his grandfather back home. In the background behind the grandfather are fade pictures of a young man in uniform. The boy tells him he is in france. The grandfather asks if the girls are as pretty as he remembers. The lad smiles and says yes then ads" Grandfather, I just want to thank you for what you did for us" Then a Bell cell phone motto appears in a corner. And a voice over says . With Bell you can use them in many countries. I am still emotional when I think of this and I remember it was Bell....So I think emotion and enthusiasm will be my key.
I really enjoyed working with Mike as he provided the voice over role of the Father character on my short film entitled "Instinct". Mike was a joy to be around and was very open to various interpretations of how each line would be delivered. Additionally, his ability to create accents from around the globe Was really quite spectacular. I would highly recommend Mike Pilon for any voice over, narration or character needs! One of the reasons I love the independent film industry, is because I get to meet wonderful, talented, people.Vincent Valentino - Feature Filmmaker
Michael Pilon is such a person, he immediately makes you feel at home on set and has a voice that can make you melt.
He has tremendous presence, acquired only through wisdom and experience, and it shows.
He is a presence that is lacking in today's film and voice acting.
He is an original, and one glimpse at his work, will immediately show this.
Kind and gentle, and yet a towering inferno if need be, this is an actor I will definitely work with again, and soon.
As he adds an authenticity to my work, and as my standards for my films increase, so does my necessity for actors like Michael Pilon.
