Nina Domingue (AEA, MFA) is a critically acclaimed multi faceted actress known for her moving and skillful portrayals and solo shows. Most recently she wrapped filming A Day of Racism, an independent film by Bryant Anderson, where she played supporting lead “Sancha”. Nina was also featured in a supporting role of the award winning feature The Passageway as Dr. Collins. She has appeared in numerous shorts, and industrial films. Nina made her FringeNYC debut in August 2011 with Ya Mama! first seen in CPT's Big Box series. The “(Website hidden)” critic Andrew Rothkin said the show was, "beautifully written and exquisitely performed." She was also recently featured in CPT's production of No Child… by Nilaja Sun, which was heralded as "Must see theater" by Tony Brown, and mentioned as one of the (Phone hidden)'s most memorable performances on WCPN's Around Noon Year End review. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from Dillard University of New Orleans and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from West Virginia University. She was named Best Actress in a Play in 2005 by the Cleveland Theater Collective for her work as “the lady in red” in Karamu’s production of for colored girls. In 2004 she received an award for, "Memorably Distinctive Performances" in several shows at Cleveland Public Theater. Nina has several solo pieces, Mo Pas Conin and Wade in the Water, both set in her native New Orleans, and A Jewel of a Tale, recently performed in the Cleveland Playhouse Children's Series, and a new play she's currently writing about the adventures of motherhood. She made her Off-Broadway and National Black Theater Festival debuts in a piece entitled It Hasn’t Always Been This Way by Ntozake Shange, directed by Diane McIntyre. Nina has also been a teaching artist for over 15 years, teaching with Young Audiences, The Great Lakes Theater Festival, Karamu House, the Cleveland Playhouse, Cleveland Public Theater and The All City Arts Program. She has been a part of the Cleveland Playhouse's esteemed Playwright's Unit, and a member of the Education Department in various capacities for over 10 years. Additionally, Nina serves as the Director of New Spirit Revival Center’s Drama Ministry, where she has directed several plays and is passionate about training the members in all facets of theater. Nina has also done extensive voice over work for WCCD Radio 1000, including voicing all characters in a children’s program Bugville, as well as writing and creating for the show. I have been a stage actor for 20 years and a voice actor for about 5.
