Terry McGovern is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most versatile performers. He's had all-around success in radio and television broadcasting, in commercials and voice-overs, in animation and video games, feature movies and television.
He started his movie career working with George Lucas, providing voices for Lucas' first film, THX1138 and later for Star Wars. While recording post-production wild lines with sound wizard, Ben Burtt, Terry was given those immortal words: "These are not the droids we're looking for."
In between, he played the young high school teacher in American Graffiti. Later, with Robin Williams, he was the bossy director who fires him in “Mrs. Doubtfire.”
He’s worked on scores of animation and video game projects, including the role of Launchpad McQuack in “Ducktales” and “Darkwing Duck.” His current projects include a learning app for kids called “You Dog,” due for release this summer by Creativity, Inc., Silicon Valley, CA/London.

I've been at this for around 40 years. I worked on the air in radio in Pittsburgh, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles. Off-beat voice for radio. Conversational, although I can yell if I have to. Fifteen years in LA, working on-mic and on-screen. Cartoons for Disney (Launchpad McQuack); DIC; Transformers, Marvel; Hanna-Barbera.
Here in the Bay Area, I've done games w/EA, Lucasarts, Telltale Games, Ludia, Capcom; Creativity, Inc.
I've done scores of sitcom and episodic TV guest shots, done a dozen or so features, work on stage at least twice a year.
I continue to work out of my very cool home studio, teach acting at the Marin Actors' Workshop and voice at the College of Marin. And, yes, I AM the guy who said, "These aren't the droids we're looking for."
