Basically, I'm about as raw and amateur as one might expect as far as "voice talent" goes. I am pretty sure I have some kind of potential. But life has kept me pretty busy until lately. I'm recently retired Navy as a technician. Basically, I'm a full time student right now going to school for computer classes because that's what I do best. So, I'm not the typical applicant you may get who's necessarily trying to "make it big". But it seems that everywhere I've gone over the years, new people I meet have remarked that I have a very unique, likable, and interesting voice. Especially from the ladies, because I kinda got a bit of a deep bass/baritone/tenor aspect to it that gets their attention. I've had some rather interesting experiences with it to where simply sharing the stories with friends and co-workers has had them laughing to the point where they were in tears. Among the usual questions I've been asked include whether I've worked in radio or broadcasting, if I'm from France, Scotland, England, Australia, etc. .... it just really throws people. Especially because I don't really sound like anybody else where I come from. There is a family trait to it, which is part of it, and also in part because I moved around a lot over the years. My dialect is sort of unique. But, anyway, I'm basically at a point in life where I'd like to explore some possibilities with what I can do with my voice just to see what's out there. If I can have some fun with it, then that's great. And as long as I enjoy what I'm doing, I'm not really too concerned with anything else in the way of fame, recognition, "making it big", etc. I enjoy working with computers, so I do that whenever I can. I've enjoyed working with technology since high school, and it took me around the world while serving my country. And over the years, I've discovered that I also really dig entertaining people with my voice. Some find it soothing, some find it .... a turn on. Some admire my delivery. Some say they want my advice, but they seem to enjoy the way I say thing more than what I'm actually saying. So, if I can take it into a good direction and put some smiles on people's faces just to see what happens and have some fun along the way, I would consider myself to have at least followed up on an area of my life that I've put off for a long time - and satisfied that question that's always lingered in the back of my mind: "Where could I go with it, what could I do, and could I have a lotta fun with it while making other people happy"? And the idea of experiencing the adventure or exploring the options is what has always been in the back of my mind wondering..... at least until tonight, when my girlfriend showed me this website. So, here I am. ;^D
Retired Navy veteran. Technology oriented. However, I currently have no experience at all with theater, production, broadcast, professional entertainment, etc..... but willing to learn.
I'm just an explorer and adventurer at heart. I'll give just about anything a try. Good communication, of course, is very important to me. Provided that this important necessity is a part of the process early on, I believe that I can deliver the best service I possibly can, or at least point someone in the right direction.
