Experience

Linda Norfleet has had an extensive career in radio production/broadcasting in news and public affairs at Nashville Tennessee's public radio station, WPLN-FM. Among her many responsibilities as news reporter, radio producer, assignment editor, interim news director, and assistant to the news director, Linda also:
~ Produced and reported daily news stories and weekly 5-,minute feature programs from her professional coverage of the Metro Nashville-Davidson County Government, and the Senate Chamber in the Tennessee Legislature;
~ researched, interviewed, wrote, and recorded scripts for daily 5-minute feature programming on other current news topics of interest to provide in-depth information on a subject;
~ regularly produced and hosted a 30-minute daily talk show, "Coffee-Break";
~ co-produced and recorded collaborative programming such as "A Criminal Shame";
~ produced and delivered 1 to 2 major live newscasts on the air daily;
~ produced and delivered 5-minute "Financial Report", at each working day's end.

Linda later went on to enrich her unique skill set as a tour leader and publicity coordinator for a nationally recognized historical landmark at Belle Meade Mansion in Nashville. Leading tour groups of 10 to 50 individuals at a time, Linda honed her extemporaneous speaking skills by bringing to life--sometimes nostalgically, sometimes with humor, always with warmth--the history and accomplishments of the Harding family members. As publicity coordinator, Linda communicated with ease and interacted with natural ability among the different media segments to promote the educational and public programs for "The Cradle of the American Thoroughbred".

Linda also has considerable experience working in the fields of higher education and medicine.
Ten years of experience in each of these areas has helped to expand her recognition, understanding, and pronunciation of difficult word/phrase choices that are not typically employed in everyday usage.

Today, Linda lends her voice to the Nashville Talking Library, a reading resource for the visually challenged.
She is grateful for the opportunity to be able to give back, while she continues learning, and expanding her range of delivery.

Testimonials

Linda Norfleet volunteers for the Nashville Talking Library which is an audio-information service of the Nashville Public Library providing books, magazines, and newspapers to Middle Tennessee residents with certified reading disabilities.
Linda comes in once a week and records books in hourly segments. She is a very expressive reader and really brings the books to life for our listening audience. Her past experience in broadcasting has obviously prepared her for recording printed material and we are extremely fortunate to have her as a volunteer.
I am happy to recommend Linda for voice overs, commercial reading, or any type of public speaking engagements. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at: michael.wagner@nashville.gov

As Head Producer for Such A Voice, I had the pleasure of producing Linda Norfleet's commercial and narration demos. With confidence and the utmost professionalism, Linda was able to bring a natural and genuine sound to every spot. From convincing us to try smart technology with the Samsung Smart Hub to taking us on an audio tour of the Smokey Mountains, she showcased her ability to analyze copy and create diversity from spot to spot.
Simply a pleasure to work with in the recording session; Linda is a sure thing!
