I am able to do a range of voices from serious to comic.
My natural voice is a light tenor voice, with a tendency to nazalize words, giving a rather intellectual "nerdy" sound. But I do have somewhat of a range however and can do some deep voices, but not real deep. And I can do falsetto to give voices to children, elderly women, and one time I was able to even do a young woman fairly convincingly.
I have a couple of neutral voices that I can use for doing commercials, radio station calls, narration, including my own natual speaking voice.
I am able to do character voices from cartoons and movies such as Mickey Mouse, Daffy Duck, Goofy, Pinky from "Pinky and the Brain", Jar-Jar Binks from "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace", Yoda from "Star Wars".
I can also do voices of various actors and celebrities both living and dead such as Orson Welles, John Housemann, Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Christopher Lloyd, Harrison Ford, and others. I have done impressions of my bosses and other people that I have known over the years.
Of course, with audio editing software I can edit my own voice to create even more effects than would be possible using just my own voice alone. For example, since I am unable to do very deep voices naturally with my own voice, to give my voice a deeper sound, I can slow audio down or deepen it using other sound editing utilities.
I can do limited work in other languages. I can read text in German and pronounce it accurately (some have said that I can pronounce German almost like a native speaker), but because I am not fluent in German, I would have difficulty in translating.
In my demos, I have tried to give a full range of my talents in narration, voice acting, commercials, jingles, and so on.
I have recorded some simple demos just to give an impression of a character voice. These feature my voice doing a character and nothing more. No sound effects, no editing or manipulation of the sounds.
Then I created more complicated demos to show the range of my capabilities in sound manipulation.
But even in the more complicated demos, such as the "Tax Amnesty" and the narrations of "Grinch" and "Horton" and the Interview with Sean Connery, all the speaking voices that are in the demos are all mine. No other person's voice was used -- ever. I also record most of my own sound effects. I only occasionally use stock sound effects in my demos and in my work in general.
My most complicated demo thus far is "Interview". Listen carefully and you will hear background noises and sniffles and coughs to give an impression that the interview, though completely fictional, was taped in front of live audience.
I have now also submitted a video so that people can see an amimation. There is also background music and voiceover work here. The video is a promo and welcome video for my new website that I am currently building at (Website hidden) which features my artworks, voice work, video and other works.
Yes, the woman's voice is mine! I began by talking in falsetto and recording the sound and then digitally manipulated it until it sounded like a middle aged British nanny voice.
This is the level of detail of my work and I think you will agree that I have a great deal of competence in doing this kind of work.
I may not have the most expensive equipment, but I do have the tools, talent, and imagination to do quality work.
